Devotional

We began our last full day in Guatemala discussing God’s intervention in the world.  We see things in sequence, God sees it in series.  We experience events individually, but God is working in multiple people’s lives at the same time for different results.  We want results now, and find it difficult to wait for God’s timing. God is good.  Do you believe that?  If not, you’re going to have a long, confusing journey through life.  This past week has been a time of seeing God actively working through our trip.  All of it for His glory.  What a privilege we feel to have a front row seat to His work.

Distribution Day

This is one of my favorite days.  Many of us collect wheelchairs in our off time to eventually send to Bethel.  Getting to see first-hand these chairs be fitted for God’s children is so amazing.  These people traveled from great distances to receive their chairs.  For many, this is their first opportunity to receive a chair.  For others, this is the chance to replace a chair that no longer meets their physical needs. We had young and old (100 years old).  Seeing the joy and relief on their faces was so encouraging.  Tony and I were able to fit a man for a wheelchair that works for the local community to help the disabled.  I took time to look around and see each member of the team fitting these wonderful people.  These people went home changed.  We pray not only physically changed through the gift of a wheelchair, but spiritually through receiving the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Strykers

After a long drive to Guatemala City, we all met for one last dinner together at Strykers in the Barcelo Hotel.  It was fun getting to continue learning more about each person.  I will miss them all.  What an amazing team of people.  Thank you to Bill for bringing his friends.  You were all the best.  And, our first female team member (Jess) doing a fantastic job all week.  We all laughed about the story of how it happened.  But, I’m thankful it did.  You added so much and worked very hard.

Travel

Friday is a travel day home.  I’m praying for safe travels and that we all go home changed people.  I will make one final blog entry after I get home and have time to reflect.  But, it has been amazing time.  Thank you Bill, Noah, Jess, Dave and Tony.  Also, thank you Ben and Emily.  What a week!!!  Dios te Bendiga!!!
